When a girl asks if she’s gaining weight

I know girls who often asks me if they are gaining weight. They both live an unhealthy lifestyle lately, such as drinking weekly and eating fast food. To answer the question, yes they are gaining a lot of weight but I feel very awkward to say that they are but at the same time want them to realized the unhealthy lifestyle. How do I say that nicely though??

You ask them "have you gained any weight on the scales", if they say yes, you ask "where do you eat? What do you eat?", ask them questions they already know the answers to so they realise what they need to do by themselves...

Honesty is always best, but just be prepared for them to be upset possibly. 
My friends are the same way. I’m literally the only one out of a group of 5 girls that works out and takes care of myself. I get made fun from them because of it, funny right? So when they ask me about themselves i am always honest. They don’t like it, but they asked. I also don’t get rude to them when they make back handed comments to me for my appearance.

Ok as u know girls r tricky. Personally if I ask someone a question like that I want the truth but I’m sensitive so I don’t want it blunt. Just say “idk but if u feel bad or unhealthy let’s hit the gym together and maybe try cleaning up our/ ur diet” 
It’s funny me and my bro have had this convo and he’s said to me before “Shan ur friend *blank* is seriously getting fat. U should tell her to hit the gym or something” now he doesn’t say that to be mean at all, u genuinely doesn’t see what’s wrong with that cuz he will literally do this with his guy friends and they’re fine with it. They all go to the gym and help each other out if they notice someone not being healthy. It’s actually kinda cool of them. Anywho I’m rambling sorry

I would put the question back to them and say ‘well, what does the scale say?’ Or ‘Do you feel like you are?’... it’s not your job to level with them on the reality of their own situation and leave the door open for them to be mad at you for their own choices
