Sorry if this is a little ranty. Sometimes I feel like the only GLBTQIA person TTC or pregnant. Everyone keeps asking if it’s a boy or a girl and talking about gender tests and reveals. I just keep want to yell (and I often post) Gender is a construct.

Am I the only one who sees the harm that gender constructs imposed on unborn children could have in the future?

If we start painting cribs blue giving kids with penises balls and no dolls, there is evidence that this causes harm regardless of the gender. The same with kids with vulvas. Toxic masculinity apparently starts before birth and it is harmful to everyone. And let’s not forget about our queer kids who are at high rate of suicide. It frustrates the heck out of me.

So yes I know the sex of my child but won’t know the gender until he/she/they tell me.
