When did you announce you were pregnant with twins?

I have to be very honest with you, ladies. I’m worried. I’m very blessed to have never gone through any losses, but my anxiety is through the roof. I’ve heard so many horror stories from other people such as; losing the babies due to still birth. Losing them before giving birth but past the safety mark. I was also told that having twins increases your babies chances for SIDS and Down syndrome 🙄 I am happy, I am. We have an already one year old daughter but that pregnancy was hard. So I’m assuming twins will be even harder. I plan on getting my tubes tied after the twins arrive (I’m 22) but I’m just struggling and needing some support of feeling comfortable with announcing, when to announce, and when to start buying things for the babies. Thank you for reading... any HELPFUL advice is welcomed. 💕

I found out it was twins at my 6 week ultrasound, I am 9 weeks 3 days now and have an ultrasound tomorrow to determine what type of twins they are. I am planning to announce after tomorrow’s ultrasound. I have two boys 9 and 4 and have no real trouble with those pregnancies besides one coming a little early. This go around I have been a nervous wreck! Right there with ya!

It’s all about what you feel comfortable with. I personally announced publicly at 20 weeks, and started buying baby things around the same time. I told family earlier on, but I had a difficult first trimester, and I was nervous about announcing early as i know that there’s more of a risk with twins (eg vanishing twins).

We found out we we expecting the day we were leaving to go on vacation for a week with my entire family. I was just shy of 4 weeks. I couldn’t keep it to myself so we told everyone that night. We told his family at 6 weeks and then told close friends over the next couple of weeks. I think I went public at work at the end of 9 weeks after finding out it was twins. We posted on FB after we got the genetic results and found out the genders and that everything was ok. That was at 13 weeks.

We announced about 13 wks.  At that point it was hard to make excuses for everything anymore, but we def wanted to wait until we had made 2nd trimester and had ultra sound pictures to go along with the announcement.  Definitely comes down to what you're comfortable with though!

We told our family at 8 weeks (when we found out it was twins) and I’ll probably tell my close friends at 12 weeks, but I’m 11 weeks now and I feel like I can’t hide it anymore. We live in a small town so news travels fast.  Still debating on a social media announcement. Maybe when we know the genders 🤷🏻‍♀️

Telling our parents this week (8 weeks). Telling other close family members throughout the week. Will wait to see how our ultrasound goes tomorrow and decide when to tell the rest.

We will probably announce after our 20 week ultrasound to social media, but there’s no mistaking my belly now at 16 weeks.  So everyone I see knows.

I’m 9 weeks and we told my close family and some of it friends after my first ultrasound at 7 weeks. We had planned to wait to tell anyone until 12 weeks, but we were told that we’ve got triplets on board. 
We aren’t telling anyone else (work, his family, social media) for a while, due to the vanishing twin syndrome and other things. We have another US scheduled in a week and I’ll probably tell my work so I can be moved to light duty ASAP, after that, as long as there’s still at least one healthy baby in there.
