How important is TDAP for my MIL?

How necessary is it for my babies grandma (my mother in law) to get the Tdap. My parents and fiancé have gotten it but she keeps putting it off. I’ve said from start we were all getting it and she agreed to get it but now she’s making up excuses. I’ve said no one can hold her or be around her excessively until they get that shot, is that unreasonable of me?
Edit:
I don’t see it as unreasonable as a newborn baby doesn’t have a fully developed immune system and my baby is due right in the middle of flu and allergy season.

I kept my child away from people. Whooping cough likes to spike in my area and my child life isnt worth someone's comfort

I said the same thing. My husband told his mother (my MIL) that she had to get the shot. She said “I’m not doing that” and I said “well she won’t be around the baby then. I won’t risk her life because your mom doesn’t want a shot” 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know how important it actually is, but I don’t even want the slightest risk that she could infect our baby.

So important. At least for people who are going to be around the child before it gets the vaccine at 8 weeks. It lasts 10 yrs, so most people have had it done.

Not unreasonable at all. Im not getting it while pregnant because that vaccine includes aluminum but I will be getting it right after birth and am depending on my family to be up to date to protect the baby.

Important, especially if you’re in an area that’s seen a rise in pertussis. I’d actually have my husband handle this since it’s his mother: “Mom, we really expect everyone who will be handling the baby to be up to date on the TDaP vaccination. Is there a specific concern you have about it?” 
Maybe she has a legit concern. Maybe she’s being lazy. Maybe she doesn’t think you’re serious. Just be firm and consistent: you know it’s a hassle, but unfortunately it’s a requirement.

I never ever would force another human to get a shot. I’m completely pro vax and my child has all of their vaccines but I couldn’t fathom forcing another person to receive an injection that they feel hesitant about just to visit their grand child. Especially an older generation. There were 15000 cases of pertussis in the US in 2017. There is a population of 328million American which gives your child  a .0004 chance of catching the virus. That’s actually extremely rare unless you live in an area that frequently has outbreaks.  I don’t know. I would never in my life force my parents into it. I even opted out of the shot while pregnant because in the literature that comes with the immunization it states this has NoT been tested on pregnant women. If you opt into the drug and have any adverse reactions to yourself or your child it will be related back to the drug manufacturer. Yup no thanks.

I wouldn't be so extreme. What happens when someone at the grocery store doesn't have it and coughs near your baby? Or someone at the day care.

I personally didn't require it. If there was any sign of illness, including "allergies", no baby. And wash hands before handling the baby. But I took the same precautions whether the person was vaccinated or not.

None of my family plans on getting it. I tried making it mandatory to see the baby but when they all refused I obviously have to be realistic in knowing I’m not going to keep them away from my child. Not getting into why they won’t get it, but they will be clean, hands washed at all times, no kissing and if they as much as cough they won’t be aloud around my son.

I got it and my mom got it as a requirement for her full time job, but nobody else got theirs for my baby. Her dad cant have it due to an allergy. So idk i guess 🤷‍♀️ My baby is two weeks old and is doing great.
