Torn between having a sprinkle party or not

So this is my third baby, and my first boy. I never had anything with my first child, I had a small baby shower with my second daughter, and this time around I am wondering if I should throw a small sprinkle/diaper party for my son. No one offered to do it for me, and I do not have many friends. My hubby wants one just to get together with some close friends.

I am so torn between wanting one to celebrate his upcoming arrival vs not having one. One of my friend kind of made a comment on how weird it is to have a sprinkle party and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have the invitations ready it’s just a matter of sending them out.
