Cheap/free date ideas?

My boyfriend and I are going through a rough patch right now because we haven’t been connecting as much as we should’ve. We finally figured out what it was. We never get out and do anything new, so we’re getting bored. But we’re both college students only working part time, so we don’t have that much extra money to spend. 
If anybody has any inexpensive date ideas, I’d love to hear them!

Go to a thrift shop and try on funny clothes
Take some food to the park and eat it
Look for free local events or concerts 
Make a playlist for each other and play it on a drive or while laying around 
Volunteer together (walking shelter dogs is a fun one!)
Buy cheap paint and make paintings or paint rocks 
Classic movie night: rent movies, build a pillow fort, make popcorn, buy candy etc
Window shop at a mall 
Buy a cheap board game and play it 
Hike somewhere and bring a picnic
Learn something (like dance tutorial off YouTube or how to make something or card tricks)
Go to the local library and read books together 
Make a scrap book together

Take advantage of the student discount while you have it! You can often get discounted theater or concert tickets, and admission to museums and such with your student ID's!
