Thoughts on the name JW? We are pretty set on naming our son John Watson. John is my husbands name and his dad and grandpas name. But we are only naming him John Watson with the intention of him only going by JW. Thoughts?

I like John Watson. It's very Sherlock... that's a good thing in my opinion, but if that's not what you're into or what you might be going for you might want to rethink your choice. I think it's adorable, either way.

My immediate thought was the dad on ‘The Watsons’! Loved that show! Strong name. JW is cute and if he doesn’t like it when he is older, he doesn’t have to stick with it.

I personally dislike initials nicknames, but I know others like them.
I also prefer giving babies a new name instead of a junior or III, too. But your baby, your choice.

It's long to say for being just 2 letters. 4 syllables. It's not like JP or JR that's quick and easy nickname. I personally would go by the full name, or just call him J.
