Constant bleeding with IUD

I have had mirena for 3 months now and I think I’ve had about one week total that I haven’t had any bleeding. I was told by my dr that I would have “breakthrough” bleeding for the first 3 months but this seems to be more like a light period. Before getting my IUD my periods were normal and consistent and now I have to constantly wear a light tampon or a pad 😠 the dr says it’s normal and I need to just wait it out but I’m getting increasingly frustrated with it. If you have mirena did you/are you experiencing this??? If so is there anything I can do to stop it???
