Is raw sushi okay?

It’s my husband and I’s anniversary and he wants to take me to our favorite sushi place. I’ve been there more times than I can count and have never gotten sick. I’ve heard that as long as it is a reputable place, it’s okay. My doctor is closed or I’d call and ask. I’m craving sushi so bad 😭

like someone else said, some Asian women have sushi all the time. you'll be fine. especially if the place is sorta higher end. they say listeria can be everywhere. even in fruits 😑😑😑 you'll be fine just make sure the place is reputable

Thing is for a healthy people (pregnant or not) you could be infected by listeria with having absolutely no symptoms. But if you are pregnant you baby will very likely suffer from it.
Chances are big that you can enjoy your raw sushi and nothing bad will happen. But I think it is the same reason why you wear an helmet on a motorcycle, 99.9% of the time it is totally useless. But if you are the 0.1% you will have no second chance to do it right.
You are the only one who can decide.

No. The food guidelines for pregnant women in my country say no sushi at all, but I know a lot of people just seem to take that as ‘no raw sushi’. Raw sushi is definitely out unfortunately.

If I really wanted it and knew they were sanitary I’d go for it. Now there is listeria I’m crackers and cereals. What are you supposed to eat 😂

Do you trust the place? If so just stay away from fish with high murcury. If you're not sure which has higher amounts just Google it! If you're still unsure ask your doctor. It's a huge misconception that fish is bad , even raw fish.
