Power outage milk storage???

Question

So it seems we may be in the path of Hurricane Florence. 
I breastfeed my 7 month old and have about 90oz in the freezer 
My concern is possible power outage..
Any way to keep it frozen (not just cold) if we lose power? 
Will a cooler keep them frozen if full of ice?? 
Just in a small panic, I don’t wanna lose all the milk I worked hard for!

Oh gosh I would freak out. I lost 400oz when our deep freezer came unplugged last year! It still hurts to think about! A cooler of ice should keep it going for a long while! As long as your stash still has ice crystals in it, it is ok to refreeze for consumption!

It would honestly depend on how long you are without power, if you were to even lose power. I live in Florida and went through Irma last year. We never lost power 🙏🏻. I would suggest leaving your milk in the freezer and if you do lose power, stacking large bags of ice on top of the stuff in the freezer as it would be less likely to thaw there if unopened than to be removed and placed in a cooler.
