Anyone have a vbac with gd?

I want one, but have heard you have to have fetal monitoring the whole time and cant go past due date.  Im only 6 weeks and havent been diagnosed with gd yet but im assuming ill get it bc i had it with my first

I think it probably depends a lot on your ob. With my first I was totally diet controlled and delivered vaginally at 41 weeks. I still had a lot of monitoring, but they let me go past my due date because I didn’t have any health problems and baby was doing fine.

I developed GD at 7 months with my first. I’m now 9.4 with my second with pre diabetes my ob said she would let me try vbac if we could keep my blood sugars under control and baby is of normal weight range.  My ob with my first wouldn’t even let me try vaginal birth.

Fetal monitoring isn't the end of the world. They have wireless belts that you wear during labour. You can still walk around, sit in the bath or shower, or whatever you want to do! A lot of the time, they will induce you before or around your due date regardless. Risks with induction do go up with a VBAC, but it's still a safe option. I had GD with my last, and will likely have it this time as well. I'll still be attempting a VBAC! I'm due April 1st. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
