Mamas who are on their second/more pregnancy, what did you do with your first/other kid while having a repeat c-section?

I might have to have another c section with my second pregnancy due to high blood pressure. My husband and I have no idea what to do with our daughter while we would be back in surgery. Im a SAHM so we have no trusted daycare or babysitter and we do not trust our parents to watch her. The only think we can think of is for my husband to miss the birth and stay with our daughter. What are you guys doing with your little ones while in labor/surgery?

My idea was to have my mom and Dad come to the hospital and sit in the waiting room and play with our toddler just during the surgery and then she can come and meet the new baby that way she is super close and they’d only have to be alone with her for maybe an hour. My husband doesn’t like that idea because he doesn’t trust my mom. I don’t trust his parents to watch her so every conversation about this turns into a fight. There’s no reason why my mom couldn’t just sit in a controlled environment with my daughter for like an hour. It would be fine. My husband is making this a way bigger issue then it needs to be. He also doesn’t understand that I’m the one going into surgery and leaving my daughter alone for the first time ever so this is hard enough for me and he’s just making it worse. If he missed the birth it would be his own fault because he’s the one causing the problem.

My parents will watch our son for a few weeks, starting a day or two before the surgery. My c-section will be scheduled so we can arrange it easily and I trust my parents 100% because they’ve watched all 4 of my sister’s kids. My husband’s parents are another story lol. 
Do you think you might be okay with your parents watching your first born just for the surgery/recovery, then let them stay with you for a week or so to help out so you can still keep an eye on things?

Our parents stayed with her. My parents did one night and his parents did one night. They sort of took turns during the day to accommodate their appointments and such. And they’d bring her up to see me for a few hours each day. Then once we got home, they stopped over almost every day. They’d bring food, play with our toddler, help around the house. At least for the first week or two. It was really nice. All of our parents live less than 5 miles from us. My husband stays home with our girls and coaches football. So he’s been home most of the time with me. And our parents still help a lot (LO is 6 weeks).

We are in a similar situation except both sets of our parents are gone. My husband has an aunt that I adore and she offered to come help but we’ll see, she lives about 6 hours away. Husband and I are also in disagreement as far as how long she should be here for so that’s fun. He thinks just while I’m in the hospital and I think longer, like a week before birth and 3 weeks after (he’s horrible about making sure I’m taken care of, not his fault, he’s just used to me being independent, also he’s the worst cook ever!). I was advised to try care.com but we have big issues with people we don’t know caring for our child. Good luck to you, I hope you find someone!

Find a babysitter now and build a relationship with them until baby comes. It’s not fair that your husband might have to miss the birth of his kid because there is no babysitter when you do have time.

Staring looking now for a babysitter. Maybe do a few days nights whatever so everyone is used to her/him before the big day. 
Or what about trusted friends ? Family that could come visit ? 
I would think you’ll need and appreciate your husband there
