Do i use a cot for a newborn?

I’m a first time mum and I’m very confused on the whole cot/cradle/Moses basket situation.
Do I use the cot when the baby is newborn? I was thinking of buying a sleepyhead so the baby doesn’t move around but some people have said the cot is to big and open for a newborn. Just need some advice😭

Moses baskets are a lot more cosy for a newborn who’s been used to being in your womb for nine months. We used a crib in our room though and most of the time in the day she slept in a baby carrier on us but she had reflux and didn’t like to be on her back. When she’s 6 months she’ll go in her cot which was too big for our room! If you start with the cot sooner then it’s worth swaddling so that they still feel secure and not overwhelmed by the big space. You don’t have to use one large bit of material, there are a number of places that sell zip up swaddles for babies which are safer.

I’ll be using a Moses basket downstairs then a crib upstairs in our bedroom then cot when baby is in his own room

I don't just beacuse I don't want to have a hard time of trying to get my baby to sleep in the crib after they outgrow it in a month or two I always put mine in the crib sense day one beacuse some babies get use to sleeping in one certain thing after so long
