The beginning of the end!!

Went in today for a routine check up. Blood pressure was too high, no surprise because it was high for the last couple week. But this time the highest was 165/101. The wanted to check my blood levels but weren’t successful in finding a vein ; 2 arms and my left hand later I left to see the gynecologist.

She checked the baby, which was doing great by the way, and she asked if she could feel my cervix. Sure not a problem! Well I’m 1 cm dilated and she put her hand higher in and says now I’m being mean, and I feel this awful pressure combined with pain. She says I just swept your membranes.

Long story short, had to go home to retrieve my stuff and had to be back by 5:00 pm. If my water doesn’t break naturally tonight, she will break it tomorrow and if everything goes well we will be parents tomorrow!!!!

I’m 38 weeks but baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, so we knew this was a possibility but it is still overwhelming.

And I have to say that I’m terrified for the actual birth, just the fear of the unknown.....
