Implantation or period?

My friend had sex on 8/26 & he came inside her without a condom, and her period is in 3 days but today she was spotting like a light pink and a light brown (after the light pink finished, she only spotted twice) shes having normal period symptoms.. i.e. breast pain, back pain, small cramps.. could the bleeding have been implantation or could it be for her period? Dont know if implantation is this close to period.
