How to sterilize bottles?

Can anyone tell me how to sterilize bottles? I honestly didn’t know that was a thing until now. Also do they need to be sterilized before each use? A dishwasher won’t work? FTM here.

When you first buy them before the first use I boil them on hot water (first make sure the parts you can and can’t) but after that I use microwaveable bags by medela that sterilize between uses and are super easy!

I’ve never sterilized them. The dishwasher gets hot enough it’s fine.

They say not to use a dishwasher because as you know food will get logged in dishwashers and it can contaminate the bottles even with the heat.
You are supposed to sterilise at least up to 6 months, once they are crawling about and sticking things in their mouth it’s not as important 😂 
I always wash my babies with separate cleaning brush etc. To what I use for our plates and things, never wash ours and babies together, then they go straight in the steriliser every time. 
It’s really not that much of an extra effort, it take 15 minutes for them to be sterilised, I then use kitchen roll to dry them seal them up and they are good for 24 hours. 
Baby has had no digestive issues, unlike some of my friends who don’t sterilise every time.

I soak in hot soapy water then wash them then boil. I usually let all the dirty bottles add up for two days and then wash them all at once.

Don’t microwave sterilize, all the really resistant thrush we’ve seen is with people microwave sterilizing

Wash in very warm water or use a dishwasher if the bottle brand is dishwasher safe. Mine are, but I didn’t want to waste running the dishwasher every couple days just for bottle so I usually hand wash mine in warm soapy water.

I hand wash, so before the first use I will wash and THEN boil them.  For the first few months I boil them every week or two.

The make a sterilizer you can put in the microwave. It’s cheaper than buying an expensive sterilizer. You just put the bottles in with water, microwave for 5 mins or so and that’s it

I throw them in a pot of boiling water every once in a while. Hopefully that works 🤷🏻‍♀️
