To cut or not to cut my 16 month olds mullet hair?

I cut my sons early because his was uneven. This was like at 8 months.

Then it grew back totally beautiful

But it’s so hot in Texas and he would sweat so much so gave him another big boy hair cut :(

This was in July so it’s grown out a little bit. It’s worth cutting if you want their hair to be even. If you don’t really care about that it’s totally up to you and how you want his hair since he can’t express it to you yet. 
My first son he had his hair so long and straight almost touching his shoulders until one day at 2 or 3 he asked us to cut it and after that we’ve never been able to get him to grow it out again.
