How to make my newborn burp?

My baby’s about 3 weeks old and I can’t seem to get him to burp!!!! Every. Single. Time. I mean, sometimes he’s okay he doesn’t squirm but then on some feedings (I’m breastfeeding by the way) I feel he wants to burp but he’s not. What do I do? Please help.

I always do the sitting on the knee with them slightly hunched over to put pressure on belly and then either bounce my knee or pat back. A lot of people are afraid to pat but don't be scared to give that burp somewhere to go!

Try to burp him, then lay him down for a minute or two, then try to burp him again. This worked well for my son.

For my I find over the shoulder always gets him to burp. My son is 3 weeks old as well. He will be fussy when he has to burp.

U can also sit him on ur knee facing away from u, hold his head with ur hand and pat his back. The hospital showed us this one cause my son was having trouble burping from over the shoulder

I never burped my son when he nursed 🤷 I would try but if it's not happening you can't force it.

make sure his back, head, and neck are in a straight line when you burp him. Sit him on your lap or have him up against your chest and shoulder while standing. If he doesn't burp after 2-3 minutes then lay him down for a few seconds and try again. When my son won't burp, I lay him down or even tip him slightly.
