How do I talk to him?

I started college last week and there’s a really cute guy who sits in front of me and for some reason I’m really into him. I don’t know his name or how old he is or literally anything about him to be honest. I noticed him staring at me in the corner of his eye today in class and I’m really bad at reading people so I’m not sure what it means? I’m kinda shy so I’m not sure how to even approach him or how to even start a conversation with him? I literally have to throw my pen on the floor, ask him to pick it up to talk to him. I have a class with him Monday’s and Wednesday’s but he’s always coming in when class starts so I never have time to talk to him, please give me ideas! Nothing too crazy because I’m painfully shy and thinking about talking to him is enough to make me want to die.

Update: I was gonna talk to him today after class and ended up following him for ten minutes in the pouring rain with no umbrella because I couldn’t get the courage to say anything and I knew it’d be weird to just turn back around after already following him for so long. THAT is how awkward I am. I have tests coming up and every time I go to study I can’t focus because I’m just thinking about him the entire time. This is driving me nuts. HELP.
