Not feeling them?

Question

Went in today for decreased movement, I’m currently 40weeks +4 days. Turns out everything is fine! Which is great. 
The nurse said I was having contractions 6 minutes apart but I never felt them? 
Does that mean labor is on its way?
I didn’t expect to hear that considering I haven’t noticed anything as far as contractions. 
Anyone experience this before?

With my youngest I had back pain and pressure that’s it I went to the er because the pressure was driving me crazy. Turns out I was 5cm 100% effaced and the bag of water was hanging out out to break

I went into labor at 40+4 weeks. I had a non stress test that morning and was told I was having contractions but I couldn’t feel them (I don’t remember how far apart they were) Went home and that afternoon I felt my first one and they were 5 minutes apart from there on out
