Do you tip maid?

I’m having a maid come to clean the house today because of our sons birthday party tomorrow. It’s 2 ladies and it takes them about 3 1/2 - 4 hours to clean it for $135. It’s an actual company so I’m not sure how much they actually pocket. I was just curious if other people tip and how much?

If they work for a company I would tip. 
My own experience with my cleaning lady is her prices were a little higher but she bought her own cleaning supplies and she factored in travel time, etc. She kept her entire fee. I always included a holiday tip which was at least the cost of one cleaning in addition to her normal fee. I also work for a food company and have access to a company store with deeply discounted product so a lot of times I also leave her a grocery bag full of snacks that I know she and her family like. It may be unusual but she’s been my cleaning lady for 14 years and it works for us.

i would, and at least $20. i’ve never cleaned, but i’ve catered and i can’t tell you how many people assume tips are either included in the fee or just don’t give them. it’s what made me stop. i busted my ass delivering and setting up over $800 worth of food and you aren’t going to tip me... at all? had to drive an hour out of town in my own vehicle to do so because if i take the company vehicle i have to reimburse them. just be courteous is all i ask, she probably works really hard for what she does and $135 for 4 hours of cleaning i think is a great deal on both your parts. just keep in mind how hard she works, she might be working 3 jobs, she could be working that one full time. you never know.

Your house must be huge! 3.5 hours for 2 ppl? Their rate is cheap. I own a cleaning company so I would say... if their work is good then the tip is always appreciated even if it’s $10. That could get them lunch after a working a hard day. My clients typically give me a $25 tip every time because they love my services.

Unless you know they work for tips which they probably don't then no I wouldn't it's there job
