Do babies need hats?

Wondering if I should put them on my baby registry for a March/April baby. I've read both opinions, that the definitely need them and that they only need them in winter.

Yes for newborns. A lot of "their heat" comes off their heads so a hat will help keep them warmer.

From what I have read probably not unless perhaps they’re premature. If they really required hats then they would probably be born with hair. It couldn’t hurt to get one closer to the time if the weather is cold I suppose. Congrats! :) x

Well, its for the same reason adults wear hats in the winter. It helps keep their heads and little ears warm. Plus it just looks cute. 😍

I never used a hat on my daughter, she was born in June but they use their head to regulate their body temp. I am going to have some on hand because I'm due in December this time and our house is a little chilly but I don't want to unless I need to. I think they're pretty unnecessary unless it's cold out
