Has anyone gotten their child this tablet? I’m thinking about it but not sure if I should or it’s a good tablet to get.

Just get a regular one with a case it's cheaper and you can make it kid friendly

We love it. 
Its fantastic. And with warranty ANYTHING can happen and they send you a new one! 
Multiple profile so you can have settings galore. One adult open one to use as regular fire tablet.. multiple kid ones set with age limits, and different things like they can't play any apps until they've read or done educational things.. 
Never have any issues with it.

We did tablets with our daughter and it just caused behavior problems. Fit throwing when she couldn't be on it when she wanted  to. Zoned out and rude attitude. Sneaking onto the tablet in the middle of the night. I don't think it helped with learning any better than non electronics learning toys. I think it made her disconnect from the world around her and have tantrums when she wasn't constantly entertained. So we took it away several years ago and her behavior improved greatly.  I see little toddler kids at restaurants and stores completely zoned out on tablets missing the world around them. It may be more convenient for the parent but it's not healthy for kids.

this one is great for older kids, I'd say 6 and up. leapfrog epic is a great one for the littles, my daughter got one at 2 and quickly became a pro with it.

My son has this one and loves it. The case is really sturdy it’s been thrown around and bounced off of stuff and still looks new.
