Tdap booster?

Question

So I went in for my glucose test yesterday and the nurse gave me a paper asking me if I wanted the Whooping Cough (TDap) booster at my next appointment. This is my 1st pregnancy and the first I am hearing about it. I was looking it up and it says it's related to the Tetnaus shot which I had a few years ago. Is your doctor making you get it or are you passing on it? 
Not looking to get into a Vax/AntiVax debate.

TDap helps protect you and your baby from whooping cough which can be very deadly for infants. Getting it while pregnant will pass some of the antibodies on to your baby. 
I got my regular booster back in March before I got pregnant. I’ll be getting it again on Monday. I’m also asking anyone who will be around my baby for an extended period of time to get their booster too.

Its reccomended for each pregnancy to pass it on to baby for whooping cough. 
Also recommended for people who will be around baby to be up to date with their boosters. 
I always get it.. and my family and such got it with our 1st.

My dr gives it with each pregnancy along with the flu shot.  I’d prefer if everyone around the baby had the booster plus the flu shot but I settle for just just flu shot since you can get them done anywhere without a dr appointment.

Yup, I got mine today! My 5 year old goes to a coop preschool with *several* unvaccinated kids and baby will be with me 100% of drop offs and pick ups so I’m particularly worried about these germy kids giving him whooping cough 😣 
I last got it with my last pregnancy which was almost exactly 5 years ago 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
It was NBD, I figure if my kid could get it and not cry, so could I ;)

The idea is that you can pass on some immunity to pertussis to the baby if you get vaccinated while pregnant. They recommend you get it with each pregnancy now, no matter how long it has been. I got it 2 years ago with my second, debating on the importance of getting it again. It’s a relatively new recommendation. It wasn’t even mentioned to me with my first pregnancy 5 years ago. However, if you live in an area where pertussis outbreaks have been making a comeback I would do it.

Yup. Got mine yesterday at 29 weeks 👍🏻 the main concern is pertussis (whooping cough).

Some hospitals won’t let you take your baby home without it, though your doc probably would have warned you about that in this case

My doctor recommended it and I am getting it. I had my tetanus booster last year but I don’t want to take a chance on the whooping cough. My husband is also getting his booster.
