Why we call our baby the Ripper Tripper...

I had not noticed that I'm pregnant until my 2nd month usg came with a picture of a weird looking creature inside. Congratulations you're pregnant! Me what how I thought it's a bad case of stomach bug (lost 10kg /25lbs already). Rest of pregnancy was without any problems.

The night the waters broke, a day after my due date. I double checked if this is not pee. Waking my husband at 3.25 am:

'my waters broke'

he goes with 'can you manage 2 more hours'

'not sure, the cramps are getting stronger by the minute'

He gained more consciousness and jumped off the bed. We had everything ready.

40 min drive to hospital

20 min at the emergency unit processing registration

20 more min changing in hospital gown and having basic labs done

20 more to get to labor ward and through some interview from midwife including going through my birth plan. My first labor, mind you.

First hickup- midwife says it's impossible not to cut crotch. I specifically wanted to avoid damage to that place. Not possible, nada. Hospital cuts as that as a ROUTINE procedure.vl Secondly tub available but i can use ball we won't be giving birth in water(still don't kno why, maybe haven't paid the water bills).

Next bad news - got a muscle relaxing injection instead of any painkiller available that I requested(midwife commented quote: 'no painkillers at this stage'). Worst part is that I tore even with THEIR routine procedure done. No painkillers, still. At this point I was considering munching steel handle that I was supposed to be holding with my hand not to fall off the birthchair. Glad to skip breakfast cause the puking would intensify. They injected local anesthesia after baby was wiggling on my chest 3 hrs after I came in. At that time I was extremely tired but so happy to hold our Ripper girl that no f were2 given to pain of any magnitude.

Also.. this was the breakfast at hospital.

Giving birth in Poland... Tell me how your breakfast looked like. Did anyone have similar experiences?
