When did you start giving baby purées?

I was gifted this book and it has recipes for 4-6 months but I wasn’t sure if you give babies food that early? She is EBF and very healthy!

Most major health organizations recommend waiting until six months.  There are risks (some lifelong) to starting before then.

I didn't actually do purees, I did BLW. But we waited until after 6 months. It's way better for baby to wait.

I did baby led weaning so I offered food (not purees at 6 months but she wasn't really interested until 8 months

My daughter is 4 months. We got the all clear from her pediatrician to start cereal in a couple of weeks...I wasn’t sold on that idea so I talked with my lactation consultant and she said to hold off until closer to 6 months. Our milk changes to accommodate a growing baby, so no need to start solids early. My lactation consultant is great, I can meet with her every Monday to discuss anything and everything.
