SNS breastfeeding?
My son will be 2 months old Saturday. He's currently in the NICU and unable to latch. I went from close to an ounce every pump session 2 weeks postpartum, to literally nothing but a couple drops now.. it's so heartbreaking because breastfeeding is something I've always wanted to do for my children..
I spoke to my lactation consultant today and she suggested something called SNS breastfeeding. He will latch and nurse but he'll be getting his food from a bottle connected to a tube running down and taped to my breast.. She said this is a common thing for mothers who adopt and wish to have that breastfeeding bond or mother like myself that can't produce enough to feed baby.
Has anyone had experience with this? Did it stimulate you enough to start producing more? Or was it more like a way to keep the bond..
