So... my boyfriend believes romance is something only in movies. He doesn’t believe in dates or gifts or anything like that. He gets mad that I always watch romances and tell me it’s “ruined” me, and how it doesn’t actually exist.... is he right?

Lol, well if it doesn’t actually exists, then idk what my husband and I are ... because we go out on dates together, he buys me flowers, and chocolate periodically, he holds my hand, opens doors for me, carries bags for me, we kiss, hug, and cuddle, he tells me he loves me daily, we watch the stars together, we take pictures in the sunset...
your bf just sounds kinda bitter, don’t let him ruin that magic for you, because romance DOES exists, it’s alive and well out there, and there’s zero reason why you shouldn’t get a chance to experience it !

It doesn’t exist if you don’t put the effort in. He’s mad because there’s people out there raising the bar for people like him who don’t want to try. It’s not all unrealistic or soppy. Maybe his idea of what romance is, is actually skewed because to me it is about reminding the person you love how much you care & appreciate them, the relationship you have with your SO is different to every other relationship & it should be cherished. 🌹❤️

yes romance is a thing just because he personally doesn’t believe in it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t or doesn’t mean its not real. There are plenty of romantic guys hes just not it & if that’s something you’re into if he loves you he’ll at least try.. if not maybe y’all just aren’t meant
