I was watching an old Philip DeFranco video (maybe from a month ago) on YouTube and he was talking about how there are prisoner firefighters who help fight the wildfires in California. He stated that these prisoners get $1 an hour plus $2 extra per day.

There were two arguments to be made. One was that they were in prison for a reason and that they need to contribute back to society. The other argument was that it could be compared to slave labor.
