OB or Midwife?

OB. I trust the education that they've gone through, on top of experience.

Midwife 100%. I had a hospital birth with epidural too. In my area they do it all. I trust them and they treat me like a human. I had an ob for my first pregnancy and i was just a patient and was in and out with appointments. My midwives take time to get to know me, my family, and my wants and desires for my pregnancy and birth.

I prefer midwives because I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences with OBs. I tried a midwife and she listened to me and took my concerns seriously while the OBs were condescending and awful to me

I had a medical emergency in my pregnancy and was thanking my lucky stars I was with doctors in a hospital. Needless to say, I’ll be using my OB again.

Midwife because this will be my one and only baby and I wanted the most natural experience possible. I’m going with a water birth, hoping everything goes as planned! 🤞🏼

My midwife was a labor and delivery nurse for 10 years. She became a midwife five years ago. 
Personally, I think reading their bios and finding out their experience is more important than their title.

I was scared into having an unnecessary c-section with my daughter by my OB. She was considered a big baby’s, and once they told me all the things that “could” go wrong if I birthed naturally, I signed the paper for the C. I mean, who wouldn’t sign it when a doctor is standing in front of you telling you a natural birth could hurt your baby?! I’m currently TTC, and have already found my midwife. Their approach is not hippie or crunchy granola or anything. She and all the midwives in her practice are registered nurses as well as certified nurse midwives. They just believe in my body’s ability to birth naturally. No time limits, I can eat or drink as I feel like it, move around however I want in order to handle the labor pains....they just are amazing women. And no, not all OB’s are bad. They are very necessary to our world and they save moms and babies lives every day. But for most women, pregnancy does not require a medical doctor, or surgeon, or continuous monitoring or anything else in order to birth successfully. My midwives give women the option to birth at home, in a birthing center, or in the hospital. You can go all natural, or have medical pain relief. You choose how you want your birth experience to go, and they make sure it goes as family friendly as possible. Good luck!! Sorry for the long answer!
