Spotting but no period

I’m not much of a “spotter”.. never have been. I rarely spot but if I do, it’s the day before/of my period. I’ve been spotting every day since Wednesday, barely anything there, only see it when I wipe. I was supposed to start my period Friday, it’s Sunday and I still haven’t started. This is new for me.. anyone else have this problem before?

Side notes* I have PCOS so I’m aware my periods are irregular for the most part.

* I’ve been on metformin for PCOS for a month now.
