Do babies react to your voice?

I’m 20 weeks tomorrow, whenever my son starts moving a lot I start talking to him and telling him I love him and asking him what he’s doing in there. It seems to make him move so much more! Do they recognize/react to your voice at or around 20 weeks?

My baby did at first, I felt my first kick at 19 weeks and when I spoke to her she’d kick harder but now I’m starting to think she doesn’t like me 😅 I talk and sing to her all the time, she’ll kick and I’ll be like “hi baby” and she just stops until I shut up.  Or if I put my hand on my belly when she’s kicking she keeps kicking until I move it.  Think she wants me to leave her alone ☹️😂😂

Mine responded particularly to her daddy's voice when I was pregnant. She would ignore me when I asked her to wiggle so I would know she was ok...but when her daddy told her to kick so mama would stop worrying she would kick. She is still a daddy's girl. This is my proof that she was one from the get go. They are off fishing today while I lie here 7 weeks pregnant trying not to puke.

Yes, babies in the womb recognize their mother’s voice and can react to it.
