Double gussets necessary?

Question

I plan on breastfeeding my baby and poop tends to be runny. I’m looking for a budget friendly cloth diaper pockets. We already have some covers and plan to do the jelly roll fold with prefolds. Now onto searching for pockets. I read a lot great things about Mama Koala and Alva diapers containing urine but nothing about runny poop.  I saw they don’t have double gussets. So is double gussets a must to contain poop? Or do they have a trick to them?

we use the alvababy pockets from amazon and they work great! I've never had a leak and i got them for $20 for 6 of them. in my opinion thaf was pretty cheap and they work great.

I prefer it. I also jelly roll my prefolds and flats, when I use them. I don’t think it’s a necessity but I feel like it gives a lot more security. I have a flip cover without the double gussets and many thirsties covers with the double gussets. I prefer my thirsties. Also, for what it’s worth, flip seems to run small.

Double gussets are not strictly necessary, but I love them.  I think my Jungle Roos have them.  But i have been satisfied with my Alvababy pockets, it's mostly a matter of getting the elastic in the leg crease right - and changing it before it's soaked through!

I didn’t understand double gussets for awhile, but now I prefer them. That inner gusset fits much closer to the “bikini line” than a diaper without double gussets which gives a much more snug fit. We didn’t have much of an issue with any other cover, but I do like how snugly double gussets help the diaper to fit.
