Hi ladies!

I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’m trying to make a small blanket for my sister’s baby.

I’m doing a “no foundation chain” double crochet to start. The problem I’m having is that even though I’m keeping my tension consistent and working each stitch in exactly the same way, my design keeps curving!

I’m really frustrated can someone help me figure out what I’m doing wrong? I even decided to abandon my project and start over with the goal of making a straight foundation but I’m 10 stitches in and the same thing is happening! I’ve pulled and reworked those same 10 stitches over and over trying to get them straight and it’s not working! Any advice?

The work above was curved well before I switched colors, I just tried ignoring it and continuing but it upset me that it wasn’t straight so I scrapped it :(

This I worked and reworked and reworked! Tighter tension, looser tension, tighter and looser tension, someone suggested using a larger sized hook on the foundation, but that didn’t really make any sense or make a difference at all. ....why is nothing working??
