Chairs for breastfeeding?

First time mom, due in January. I’m trying to pick out nursery furniture and wondering how necessary a glider is. We have a lazy boy recliner in the family room and baby will sleep in our room the first bit. I know gliders and ottomans are nice for breastfeeding and story time though. What are your thoughts and recommendations?

I personally could never find a comfortable position in a chair for breastfeeding. Couches, recliners like a La-z-boy (large/wide seat, low arm rests), and bed worked best in the beginning with a BrestFriend pillow. Any chair with higher arm rests or a small seat were instant fail. I’d wait and test out some chairs after baby comes to be sure.

We got a rocking nursery recliner from target. It rocks, swivels and reclines. It’s been a lifesaver for us. I’ve had nights where my little one wants to be rocked while she’s nursing or wants me to rock her to sleep in a quiet area. The living room was great until she decided she likes her nursery better, less distractions for eating and getting babe to sleep. I’ve also slept in it. We like it because you can put your feet up and don’t need to have a foot ottoman.

I’m still pregnant but we really like a chair at Buy Buy Baby called Bilana by Best Chairs. It’s a rocker recliner and is a little wider than normal. Suer comfortable with a nice high back.
