My girl is 12 weeks on Friday. She was born with a birth defect called gastroschisis and IUGR she was only 4pounds 13 ounces at birth. Now at almost three months she’s just over 7 pounds. breast milk is all her tummy can tolerate so I’m an exclusive pumper because of all of her issues nursing was not an option She seems to be doing ok just very slowly gaining weight. She also has an issue where she does not close her airway why she’s eating so she aspirates ever time she eats because of this we had to thicken her milk I use Gelmix Which seems to be OK on her tummy so far.Now to my question right now she’s only eating 3 ounces every three hours. I feel like she’s satisfied Most of the time but not always but I’m wondering if feeds are more related to their weight or their age? is it time to bump her up to 4 ounces or is it crazy to feed a 7 pound baby 4 ounces at a time?
