Weening off Lexapro!?

Question

I was on lexapro 10mg for anxiety and slowly starting weening down to 5mg. I haven’t taken it in 2 days and feel kind of weird. Like nervous/a little out of it. Has anyone experienced withdrawals from lexapro or any anti depressants? Please help any advice on anxiety helps! Thank you

I wouldn’t say I’ve experienced withdrawals but I know, on most of the different meds I’ve taken, if I stopped taking them for whatever reason (usually because I neglected to get a refill on time), I would go back to my depression and anxiety which is no fun. I don’t do well when I’m totally off meds.

With any antidepressant you have to slowly ween yourself off, you cant just stop taking it cold turkey, start by going a week with half dose, then another week at a quarter dose until you get to what you want. If you go cold turkey it can cause some pretty serious issues speaking from experience
