He should only get you a promise ring when he is 100% sure that he will keep a promise to stay with you. 
I personally think promise rings are juvenile though. I feel like they are more for teens in high school who are too young to get married but think they’ve found ‘the one’.

Promise ring is him promising to love you forever or whatever. I got a promise ring from my now husband after dating for 6 months. Some people don’t get promise rings and some it takes a long time. If you ever need to beg a man to make a promise to you it’s not the man for you. And if he doesn’t feel 💯 then he shouldn’t promise you anything. Also you don’t need a promise ring if he is still there upholding a promise.
