So I am African American and my boyfriend is Caucasian we have been together for a year and 9 months, we have been getting into arguments lately because I feel like he doesn't understand some things that African American women do and things that are really important to African American women like for instance I wanted to get my hair done and we all know hair is really important to us so I asked him about what I should get my hair like and he made stupid comments like "it's a waste of time and money" but never complains when I come home looking like a snack! 🙄 he's the first person to compliment and be all over me..like boy move.. and it was another incident where I was all emotional about my niece getting her hair flat ironed for her school pictures..we don't usually flat iron our kids hair in African American households until they get older..that's is a big deal to me and I was upset about it once again here he comes with the stupid comments saying "it's not that big of a deal why are you even complaining about this and that" 😑 he makes me mad sometimes..like he doesn't try to understand some of the things we do... I try to explain so many times about so many things and he doesn't even try to understand
