Okay?
Appropriate to have a kinship shower ? (Young child coming into my care, not a lot of money to buy everything upfront that he may need or use). Just like a baby shower, except the kid is over a year old, and not biologically mine.
I've had people tell me to wait until the adoption is final or until I at least have legal guardianship... but I'll just be having a small party with no gifts or anything.
For now, I just need handmedowns and help.
