boys are confusing 😩

okay so there’s a new guy in my grade (let’s call him john) and I think he’s really cute! I don’t have a crush on him, I just think he’s cute as of now. I told my guy friend that when he asked about him (let’s call him jack; JACK HAS A HUGE CRUSH ON ME). they were at the same place tonight w mutual friends, and I got a message on snap from john (we have a streak but never actually talk!) basically just the basic hey wyd convo (whatever). but jack messaged me on snap at the same ish time like “lol we are trying to help john figure out what to say to you” ... awk.... then later jack said not to get involved with john because he’s talking to a lot of girls. (Btw I wasn’t planning on pursuing anything w john, if the opportunity presented itself; I wouldn’t be against it!) I know john OBVIOUSLY talks to other girls ... we aren’t in any commitment AT ALL I wouldn’t expect him not to talk to anyone else lmao ... but I wonder how genuine jack in his intentions for telling me that. was it because he doesn’t want john in his way, since he has a crush on me.. of was he just genuinely concerned for me?
