I have told my mother I wanted a coed baby shower since we started talking about it. We picked a brewery close to us and fell in love with the idea!

A couple days ago my mother texted saying she no longer wants to do it at the brewery and she wants only women. Did I miss something? Is this okay for her to pick where and who? For my wedding I caved in for a lot of the ideas since I felt this was also her time, as I am an only my child. However, now I feel this is about me, my child and my husband. And I should do what we want. Am I wrong?? Help!!
