12 Week Old Startling Easily

Is this normal? Last night, I had him in his swing in the bathroom with me so I could shower, and when I turned the blow dryer on, he started crying and his hands were shaking, and he stared at it like it was a monster the whole time. Is this normal because it did not used to bother him?... he gets spooked by other things too, like if someone walks in and starts talking, stuff like that. It's hard to ask questions on here anymore because I have no help and it's just me and him and he's a handful. I try when I have time lol. He's also been much more clingy than he used to be lately.
