Menstrual cup with vaginismus/vulvadynia?

Hi guys! I'm going on vacation and me period is expected to come the same time (fuckin' uterus). I want to be able to use the hottub/ have a romantic bubble bath with my girlfriend. Problem is I have vaginismus/vestibuldynia, and have never been able to use a tampon (tried exactly one time and it was awful). I don't have a severe case, but I'm not looking forward to the hassle of trying to get it in, especially when I'm cramping up, but I figure if it only hurts a little I can tough it out just long enough to be in the water for a while.
My girlfriend is getting me the small divacup, is this one soft and pretty small? Has anyone else with vaginismus/vestibuldynia found one they could tolerate?

Helloo ~ i also have vulvodynia, however I do not have vaginismus. Im extremely sensitive! First of all, I can say even with the cups that are too firm for me, its better than a tampon.
Secondly, I'm not exactly sure what kind of difficulty you would have with insertion, given the vagismus, some people have difficulty inserting and vagismus will certainly cause this issue.
Now, the DivaCup is not really a soft option. Given your vaginal struggles I would go for as soft as possible right off the bat to avoid pain, which is what I wished I had done. BUT given the vaginismus, I have no idea if a softer option would open up well? Given the tightening upon insertion. 
Here are my suggestions:
•Fun Cup, its small, "ergonomic", and one of the very softest cups on the market with theres very little room for irritation because there are very few markings on it. However, it may be more difficult to open, and due to the lack of exterior texture it may create complications with removal. 
•Femmycycle, I seem to be recommending this to a lot of people with vaginal trouble. It looks big in pictures but its one of the smallest cups on the market and on the soft side of the spectrum. It is unique in the fact its not meant to open completely. It just chills in there, so thats less work for you to do by putting your fingers in, and it eliminates the possibility of you having leakage from tightening muscles. However some experience the cup being too small and flipping upside down. 
I really wish I had some better advice, but I have limited experiences :(

Hi I can’t really answer your question but I wanted to suggest going in putacupinit.com they have a chart of how soft/hard each cup brand is and you can take a quiz to see which would possibly be best for you.  I do know a couple of brands sell a  “sensitive” version made of softer material that might also be an option for you.  Best of luck
