How to put one year old to sleep?

Question

My LO is 12 months and recently has been waking in the middle of night once/twice and I have no idea why?? 
I need to find a way to get her to sleep in crib alone without me rocking her to sleep then putting her down any ideas mamas please ??

My 1 year old  is one of those babies that loves being rocked to sleep. And he is massive (it was killing my back!) Actually for a while I do believe he thought it was the only way he could go to sleep which made me feel super terrible that he wasn’t able to self soothe himself to zzzzzzzzz. I never thought he could be baby that could be sleep trained as he is so head strong and if I even so much as went to put him in the crib awake he would be howling down the building. Anyway after a reading about someone else’s success on here-  I decided to read Suzy Giordanos very succinct book (it’s a very easy and fast read) - the baby sleep solution. I started when he was about 6-7 months. let him cry/howl/fuss for 30 seconds then go back in and soothe him and repeat til he fell asleep. It worked in 2 days. TWO DAYS!!!!! Why didn’t I start sooner?! If I remember correctly - First day he took 40 minutes. Second day it took 7 mins. Third day he went down no problem. He did go through a regression and we fell back into rocking him  and I had to sleep train him again. Literally took two days again. Honestly it’s the best thing we ever did and the best gift we ever gave him is teaching him how to fall asleep on his own!
Also we got a crib aquarium that plays white noise or lullabies and this helps massively as he watches it while he falls asleep and if he wakes up early in the morning he turns it on and it keeps him entertained. I would also put a couple of toys (like a music box or talking bear) in there as they like to play a bit before they drift off.

We’ve been using Ewan the Dream Sheep since my guy was around 4 months. It won’t prevent your baby from waking up at night, but we use it when we initially put our guy down for naps and bedtime. His heart glows and it plays 4 different sounds, and lasts for 15 minutes each time you turn it on. My guy loves playing with it until he eventually falls asleep, and lately he’s even been cuddling with it while he sleeps. He cries if we put him in his crib without turning Ewan on.

Honestly i use white noise and just leave her and she goes, if she wakes I go in see if she's okay let her know she's okay and then walk out.. it's hard I know as a nursery practitioner and having helped other parents in this.. they all say if you want your own space and need baby to be a bit more independent don't make a rod for your own back.. try and just put her/him down after a night routine and see if he settles and once he wakes just go in calm him/her giver her a cuddle and put them back down.. it may work it may not worth a shot xx

I would put ure daughter in the cot and read a story next to her bed to help her relax. Then sit at the end of the bed where she can’t see u until she falls asleep. If she continues to cry give he reassurance very so often.

I’ve always had a routine I have stuck with. Bath, bottle then bed. I use a fan for white noise and he gets something soft like a blankie plush toy for snuggling. He loves the feel of fluffy soft material against his face. We have even traveled back home to visit family so we are in a different time zone and he’s still sleeping through the night. If he does wake he’s able to put him self back to sleep.
