Flushing Tampons? 😕

Question

I know I shouldn’t flush tampons but I do, I don’t have a bin in my bathroom and if I don’t flush them I’d need to carry it through myself to the bin in our kitchen. Which I don’t exactly want to do as only my mum knows about my period.
What could actually happened if I flush them? 
I’ve heard stories of families needing to dig them out of the pipes, but can this actually happen?

So buy a trash can for your bathroom, or asl your mom to. Or better yet, start using reusable products so you’re not adding unneeded trash to landfills. Flushing them ruins your pluming

They clog the pipes. A plumber would need to come out once it’s bad enough and unclog the septic tank. Tampons don’t break down they just stay thick and absorbed. You can get a cheap bin at Walmart or on amazon for a few dollars. Just get a bin.

For one pipes have filters to help some stuff go through and tampons won’t dissolve and you’ll eventually probably have to get them out, and that’s embarrassing. Also the plants where the drains stuff go isn’t able to treat them and those people have to pick them out. I suggest you just buy a little trash can from target or ikea.

If you can’t get a trash bin for some reason you could just get a trash bag and keep it under the sink or in a box, then take it out yourself with the main trash. 
It would be way more embarrassing/expensive to have your dad call a plumber then to ask for a trash can. And you don’t have to say it’s for your period if you don’t feel comfortable. just that you would like one.
