Evening primrose oil??

Any second time mommas used evening primrose oil in the past to help cervix ripen? Curious to know if it truly helped in anyway and when you started it

Absolutely! I used it with my first I think starting at 36 weeks. Took it orally and vaginally. I was not dilated but 0.5cm at 42 weeks when I was induced but they said my cervix was very soft and asked if I had been using EP oil. I’m convinced my induction wouldn’t have been successful without it! A ripe cervix is important.

I did it with my first plan on doing it with this one as well. I believe it helped me soften my last appointment before I went into labor I was at a 3 and when I went to the hospital I was a 6. I will be doing it this time around also with the raspberry leaf tea!

I used it with my third and noticed a big difference. Labor was so much smoother. I was 2cm for almost 4 weeks. When contractions started getting tough I went in to L&D still at 2 cm. Walked around for an hour and was at 6cm! 20 min in the tub and my water broke naturally and baby was out in 3 pushes. All together about 3.5 hours compared to days with my others.
