Gender Reveal

So, I live in Canada. I went for my gender ultrasound with the intentions of asking if they could call my sister with the gender instead of telling me. I asked two different people, the person doing my US & the woman at the desk.

They both said they can’t do that anymore, so I was a little let down. I didn’t know what I was gonna do because, I had no one to last minute come to the hospital so she can tell them. (I was living away from my hometown so no family where I was living) I was just in my own little bubble, trying to think of what to do while she was doing my US. I asked if she could write it down on paper, nope. I was just gonna cancel my gender reveal party, it wasn’t working out.

But she came up with the idea of my SO & I doing the gender reveal for my family instead! I was like “oh that’s new, yeah okay!” She told us it was a boy, and I was so happy and shocked I for sure thought he was a girl!😂

I went back to my hometown, with my SO & we did the gender reveal 2 days later. My mom and sister helped me decorate the house. It turned out lovely! I was so excited to tell them. I filled up 15 balloons of blue confetti for my guests to pop. We all ate lots and lots of food before the big reveal!

I took everyone outside to my backyard, and counted down for them to pop, there was blue confetti everywhere & everyone was so happy! I’m happy with how it turned out, even if it wasn’t what I originally planned. We all had some yummy cake that my sister baked and just hung out and talked.. it was a great evening. 😊 Just wanted to share my experience. This is my first baby!
