Trust your animals!!

Chelsea

Ladies, if I have any advice to give you all it’s to trust your animals! Whether it’s a cat, dog, horse, rabbit, or anything in between!

With my first child my husbands family had a 14 year old black lab mix named Draco. I was living with him and his family at the time and jobless. He usually kept to himself and didn’t move much since he was old and probably had some joint issues. After a few months though he became very insistent on being where ever I was. The first time it happened was during a thunderstorm, so we didn’t think anything of it. But this:

became my everyday. He would whine to come down to the basement if he couldn’t get in.

When I found out I was pregnant it all clicked. He was glued to my side whenever he could be. I started being upstairs more because I didn’t want him climbing up and down the steps because they were steep.

A couple months after my daughter was born we made the unfortunate decision to put him down though. Every time he moved you could see he was in pain. It pained us all in different ways. To my husband and his family because it was the last living piece of his mother that passed. To me, it was because even before I knew he was protecting me and my baby.

Moral of the story:

If your animals start acting funny or sticking really close to you when normally they don’t. Maybe you should listen to them.

Because their noses are better then ours and their instincts are much more keen.
