Fertile CM using Mirina??

I'm currently on my 2nd Marina Iud and with my first (full 5 years) I never had egg white cervical mucous. After my first one was removed I went on the pill because we are thinking about starting a family in 3/4 years. That wasn't a good fit for me after 6 months so I had another Marina installed 6 weeks ago. This morning I had a lot of EWCM and I'm worried because we had unprotected sex the day before. Is this normal?

First of all, I’m glad I’m not the only person who says they had their IUD “installed”. Fucking hilarious. 
Secondly, I used Mirena IUDs for 12 years and almost immediately after my first one my periods stopped so I had no ovulation/cervical mucous changes. However I would occasionally get a breakthrough period here and there, usually in the 2 weeks following an EWCM episode. I was off of the IUD from March 2017 to March 2018, had my new one installed (🤣) in the beginning of March and with this new one I haven’t gotten EWCM at all but still get my period more often than not. 🤷🏻‍♀️ hormones are a funky bunch

It doesn't really mean anything. It could just be from the Mirena, could be from ovulation. Either way you're fine. Iuds don't stop ovulation but they're still super effective

So the way that the mirena IUD works is it makes your cervical mucus less conducive for sperm and also tries to prevent ovulation. Sometimes it doesn’t prevent ovulation though which is why you get ewcm randomly. But it’s main way of preventing pregnancy is through the cm so it’s normal
